Accounting Bachelor Degree

A bachelor's degree is viewed as the educational standard for the accounting profession, and is the base requirement for state licensure in certified public accountancy. As all U.S. jurisdictions' Boards of Accountancy work towards educational uniformity under the Uniform Accountancy Act (UAA), they achieved consensus on the idea that the bachelor's degree provides the level of knowledge necessary to prepare candidates for the CPA exam, as well as the mastery of accounting principals needed to ultimately qualify for the universally recognized CPA credential. Even if graduates forgo the rigors of the CPA licensing process, a bachelor's degree in accounting or a bachelor's degree with an accounting concentration will position them to pursue careers in any area of public or private accounting.
